Outstanding performers in British Columbia’s growing Aboriginal tourism industry were honoured in Vancouver at the fifth Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia (ATBC) awards ceremony.

The new Haida Heritage Centre at Qay'llnagaay, on Haida Gwaii, also known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, will open to the public on July 1, 2007 to initiate its “soft opening preview season.” It is on the site of the ancient Haida village, known as Qay’llnagaay (also spelled Kaay Llnagaay), meaning "Sea Lion Town."

Treasures of the Tsimshian
Anthology of Auctioned Aboriginal Artifacts

Historic cultural treasures, long lost to the Tsimshian people, have come home to British Columbia. Items acquired by Rev. Robert J. Dundas recently sold among a collection of Northwest coast art at Sotheby, in New York. The travelling exhibition of these recently obtained artifacts began at the Museum of Northern British Columbia in Prince Rupert, on the north coast of British Columbia.
